Wendy Hoenig is currently Vice President of Research & Development for Dow Coating Solutions, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, located in Freeport, Texas.  In this role, she is responsible for building a global R&D organization for our newest market facing unit to deliver differentiated solutions to the coatings industry.

Hoenig obtained her B.A. in Materials Science from Rice University in 1986.  In 1998, she completed an Entrepreneurial Studies Executive Education program at Babson College.  She has held numerous positions within The Dow Chemical Company, including leadership positions in Polyolefins R&D, Polyolefins Marketing Research, and Engineering Thermoplastics R&D. 

Hoenig was the Global Technology Director for Coatings & Specialties in the Epoxy Products and Intermediates business from 2000-2003, serving in global leadership positions in both North America and Europe.  While in this role, she was the chairperson for the first Coatings Industry Management Team for the business.  Most recently, Hoenig was the Global Business Director of Performance Business Development.  This group was responsible for identifying and implementing new technology growth options as well as completing the market facing business assessments for the company.

Hoenig is a member of the National Paint and Coatings Association, where she is a newly appointed member of the Science & Technology Committee.  She is an active member of the Georgia Institute of Technology external advisory board for Polymers, Textiles & Fiber Engineering.  She is the recipient of three R&D 100 Awards for the Top 100 most innovative products in the US, holds 15 US Patents, and has published extensively in scientific journals.  Hoenig is also a recipient of the Dow Regional Genesis Award for people development.

Hoenig and her husband, Steve, live in Houston, Texas, and they have three children.  She enjoys traveling, cooking, and collecting wines.
