Carlo Spaniol Vice President Transportation & Corrosion Protective Coatings |
Carlo Spaniol, Vice President - Transportation & Corrosion Protective Coatings, is responsible for the profit & loss and long-term profitable growth for this business unit. He is a member of the Dow Coating Solutions Leadership team and is located in Horgen, Switzerland.
Spaniol joined Dow in 1991 as a sales trainee in the Field Sales Department in Duesseldorf, Germany. Since 1992, he held various field seller assignments covering multiple geographies including D/A/CH, Eastern Europe, the UK and Ireland.
In 1997, he relocated to Horgen and became D&CT Coach and Market/Sell Technology Manager for the Epoxy business in Europe.
In 1999, Spaniol was named Epoxy’s Market Manager for Automotive and Packaging Coatings in Europe and MEAF. In 2000, he expanded this role globally and added further responsibility for other coating sectors in 2002. He was appointed Epoxy’s Global Coatings Market Manager and chairman of Dow Epoxy’s Coatings management team in 2003.
He assumed additional responsibility for Coatings in Europe and IMEA across the Base & Performance Chemicals portfolio in 2006. He was named to his current role in May 2007.
Spaniol holds a master’s degree in marketing, business administration and economics from Universität des Saarlands in Germany. He is also a graduate of Dow’s Marketing Academy.
Spaniol and his wife Dagmar have three children and live in the Zurich Lake area in Switzerland.
